What is Persona
Persona is a Japanese role-playing game (RPG) series developed by Atlus which combines traditional dungeon-crawling and turn-based combat with school life, friendships, relationships, and psychological themes.
The series began in 1996 with Revelations: Persona, released in Japan as Megami Ibunroku Persona for the original PlayStation.
Persona itself is actually a spin-off of Atlus’s Megami Tensei franchise. The early games were connected to Shin Megami Tensei, but Persona eventually developed its own identity and became one of Atlus’s biggest franchises.
