Founding Titan Attack on Titan Tattoo
The Founding Titan was the original Titan power inherited from Ymir Fritz, the first Titan. After Ymir’s death, her power split into the Nine Titans, but the Founding Titan retained the ability to influence all Subjects of Ymir.

Doing so would restore the Reiss family’s control, but Historia realises that accepting this role would mean surrendering her freedom. Instead, she rejects her father, saves Eren, and destroys Rod’s plans.

Ymir is one of the members of the 104th Cadet Corps who later reveals herself to be the holder of the Jaw Titan. Sarcastic, fiercely independent, and surprisingly compassionate, Ymir plays a crucial role in Historia Reiss’s development.

Ymir later infiltrated the Walls and joined the 104th Cadet Corps to find Krista Lenz, whom she had learned was hiding her true identity. Because Ymir understood what it meant to live under a false identity, she encouraged Historia to stop pretending, with the pair developing a deep relationship.

Reiner Braun is a Marleyan Warrior who infiltrates Paradis Island to recover the Founding Titan. Throughout the series, he struggles with guilt, identity, and the crushing weight of his responsibilities.
Reiner grew up in Marley, where Eldians were heavily discriminated against. He desperately wanted to become a Warrior because he hoped to earn honour for his family, wanted his Marleyan father to accept him, and believed Marleyan propaganda about the “devils” of Paradis.

The mission nonetheless continued, with their infiltration eventually leading to the fall of Wall Maria, the event which shaped the entire story.

The Armoured Titan is one of the Nine Titans controlled by Reiner Braun. After the Colossal Titan kicked down the walls of Shiganshina, Reiner used the Armoured Titan to destroy the gate of Wall Maria, allowing the other Titans to enter the walls for the first time and setting the story in motion.

Believing that his parents were using him as a tool, Zeke reported Grisha, Dina, and the Eldian Restorationists to Marley. Zekes’ true ambition is the “Euthanasia Plan,” where he planned to become a warrior for Marley, never letting them know he was a descendant of royal blood. Once he attains the power of the Founding Titan, he would sterilise all Eldians, ending the cycle of hatred shown toward his race.

Beast Titan is one of the Nine Titans that often takes on animal characteristics, which may vary between inheritors. For most of the series, the Beast Titan is inherited by Zeke Yeager, who resembles a giant ape.

Tragically, Marcel died protecting Reiner from Ymir, and following Reiner and Berthold’s failed capture of Eren, Ymir sacrificed herself to be brought back to Marley, where she would be consumed by Porco for him to inherit the Jaw Titan.
