What Is Dragon Ball

Dragon Ball is a hugely popular Japanese anime and manga franchise created by Akira Toriyama that first appeared in 1984 and has since become one of the most influential and beloved series in pop-culture.

The story follows the adventures of Goku, a monkey-tailed, super-strong boy living in the mountains. His peaceful life changes when he meets Bulma, a brilliant inventor looking for the seven Dragon Balls. They go on a series of adventures that were inspired by Journey to the West, a classic Chinese novel published in the 16th century during the Ming dynasty.

While Dragon Ball would shift its formula toward more action in its latter half, its successor series, Dragon Ball Z, predominantly focuses on action, taking place a few years after the conclusion of Dragon Ball, when Goku learns of his heritage as a Saiyan and must battle ever more sinister villains that threaten the very universe itself.

Dragon Ball GT was an anime-only series, now considered non-canon, that follows the adventures of Goku, who has been reverted back to a child by a new set of Dragon Balls known as the Black Star Dragon Balls. Goku, along with his granddaughter, Trunks and others, must go into space to retrieve the balls before Earth is destroyed by their power.

Dragon Ball Super takes place after the defeat of Majin Buu, where a God of Destruction named Berrus travels to Earth to challenge Son Goku, as a prophecy foretold that the God would meet someone there to challenge his power.

Dragon Ball Daima was an intentional throwback to classic Dragon Ball. The characters are turned into children due to a conspiracy and must travel through the Demon Realm to return to their original state.

Best Dragon Ball Tattoo Ideas

Now that we know a little about Dragon Ball, let’s take a look at some of the best Dragon Ball Tattoos the internet has to offer.

Son Goku Dragon Ball Tattoo

Son Goku is the main protagonist of the Dragon Ball franchise. Inspired by Sun Wukong from Journey to the West, Goku become his own unique character as the series evolves. Goku is actually Kakarot, a Saiyan warrior sent to Earth as a baby, but suffers a head injury that wipes out his violent Saiyan instincts, making him pure-hearted.

Raised by his adoptive grandfather, Gohan, he teaches Goku martial arts and kindness before his death. Goku would later learn of his heritage as a Saiyan, and while always protecting the Earth and the Universe, he always strives to meet stronger and stronger opponents to push the limits of his strength.

Vegeta Dragon Ball Tattoo

Vegeta is the proud Prince of the Saiyan race who begins as a ruthless villain, but transforms into a rival hero, and eventually becomes a husband, father, and protector of Earth.

The son of King Vegeta and considered a prodigy, Frieza took him to serve in the Frieza Force. Despite serving Frieza, he despised him for destroying the Saiyan race and aimed to acquire the 7 Dragon Balls of Earth, then the Namekian Dragon Balls after his failure, to achieve immortality and defeat Frieza.

Obsessed with becoming the strongest, he eventually admits Goku is better than him, albeit until Dragon Ball Super and Daima rolled around, resetting his desire to be better than his long-term rival.

Frieza Dragon Ball Tattoo

Frieza is the main antagonist of the Namek Saga in Dragon Ball Z and one of the franchise’s most legendary villains. He is the ruler of a massive planetary empire that is a prodigy of raw power even before training.

Frieza enslaves planets, selling them to the highest bidder, torturing and executing whole populations with sadistic pleasure. He is also responsible for the destruction of Planet Vegeta, fearing that the legend of a Super Saiyan would one day rise up to destroy him.

Broly Dragon Ball Tattoo

Broly has two incarnations in the Dragon Ball series. At first, he was a film original character known as the Legendary Super Saiyan who despised Goku (Kakarot) for crying incessantly beside him as a child.

In Dragon Ball Super, he was the son of Paragus, a lower-class Saiyan. Born with incredible power levels that terrified King Vegeta, he was exiled to the dangerous planet Vampa with his father. There, he was raised in isolation, fighting monsters to survive before being found by a newly revived Frieza.

Frieza, noticing his immense power, tricks his Father into using Broly as a weapon against Vegeta and Goku, who need to combine their strength through fusion to defeat Broly and calm his rage.

Trunks Dragon Ball Tattoo

Trunks is a time-traveller who came from a future in which Goku dies of a heart virus and mysterious androids have killed all the Z Fighters. The son of Bulma and Vegeta, he travels back in time to give Goku heart medicine and warn of the incoming threat.

Following the defeat of the androids and Cell, the young Trunks grows up, never seeing the bleak future of his counterpart, and becomes a more confident and playful version who is lucky to be raised by his father and best friend, Goten.

Bardock Dragon Ball Tattoo

Bardock is the biological father of Goku (Kakarot) and Raditz, who was a low-class Saiyan warrior from Planet Vegeta. Despite having two incarnations, both versions face off against Frieza, and both ultimately meet their demise along with Planet Vegeta.

The original Bardock from the TV Special, “Bardock, the Father of Goku,” is a classic portrayal of a Saiyan, dedicated to his job of conquering planets, and being tough but loyal to his comrades. After being attacked, he gains the ability to see the future and witnesses Planet Vegeta’s destruction and Frieza’s betrayal. He tries to warn the Saiyans, but they refuse to listen, leading to a confrontation with Frieza, where he ultimately loses, but has another prophetic vision of his son’s battle against the tyrant.

Toriyama’s revamped Bardock for “Dragon Ball Super: Broly” is more nuanced and kinder, showing compassion for his son and sending him to Earth to protect him from Frieza. He questions Saiyan brutality and returns to Planet Vegeta, knowing Frieza is acting suspiciously.

Yamcha Dragon Ball Tattoo

Yamcha is one of the earliest characters introduced in Dragon Ball, who begins as a desert bandit, but eventually becomes a loyal member of the Z-Fighters. Yamcha trains under Master Roshi, learning advanced martial arts and competing in multiple World Martial Arts Tournaments.

Throughout Dragon Ball Z, the difference in power becomes too much to keep up with, as he bows out of the action following his near-death at the hands of Dr.Gero, but aids the other Z fighters in distracting Cell long enough for Gohan to land the killing blow.

Despite once being a mainstay of the Dragon Ball cast, Yamcha is probably best known for his ‘death pose,’ following his defeat to a Saibaman in the Saiyan Saga, a meme used to convey failure or weakness.

Buu Dragon Ball Tattoo

Majin Buu is the final major antagonist of Dragon Ball Z. While his backstory has changed, he was originally stated as being a magical being created millions of years ago by the dark wizard Bibidi. He has gone through multiple forms, each with different personalities, powers, and levels of destruction.

Son Goten Dragon Ball Tattoo

Son Goten is the second son of Goku and Chi-Chi, and the younger brother of Gohan.

He’s cheerful, innocent, and incredibly powerful for his age, being able to transform into a Super Saiyan before the age of 7.

Despite being powerful, Goten is rarely seen in action solo and is best known for his Gotenks form after fusing with young Trunks.

Son Gohan Dragon Ball Tattoo

Son Gohan is the first son of Goku and Chi-Chi, making him the first half-Saiyan, half-human hybrid. Unlike his father, Gohan doesn’t have a love of fighting, but when forced into a corner, his power explodes through emotional anger, most famously in his battle against Cell following the death of Android 16.

Gohan was originally set to replace Goku as the main hero of the series; however, Toriyama deemed Gohan to be too reactive rather than proactive, and instead decided to resurrect Goku as the lead for the Buu saga (then) series finale.

Piccolo Dragon Ball Tattoo

Piccolo is a Namekian warrior who went from villain to a mentor, hero, and Z Fighter strategist. He is the son/reincarnation of King Piccolo, who, after being defeated by Goku, spat out an egg containing Picollow Jr. in the original Dragon Ball.

Although he enters the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament intending to kill Goku, their rivalry slowly develops into one of respect and they eventually team up to defeat Goku’s Saiyan brother Raditz.

From then on, Picollo becomes a member of Earth’s defenders, training Gohan in preparation for the arrival of Vegeta and Nappa, becoming somewhat of a father figure to the boy, and even travels to his home planet to learn more about his heritage.

Chi Chi Dragon Ball Tattoo

Chi-Chi is Goku’s wife, the mother of Gohan and Goten, and the Ox-King’s daughter. She first appears as a little girl, an innocent Goku promising to marry her, unaware of what marriage is.

Chi-Chi never forgets this promise and enters the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament, where she fights Goku and reminds him of their marriage promise. Following the tournament, the two get married and, in the future, have children together, with Chi Chi always prioritizing study for her children rather than martial arts.

Babidi Dragon Ball Tattoo

Babidi is the evil wizard who serves as the main antagonist at the beginning of the Majin Buu Saga in Dragon Ball Z. Babidi is the son of Bibidi, the original wizard who created Majin Buu millions of years ago (later retconned in Dragon Ball Daima).

After Bibidi died, Babidi inherited his father’s magical knowledge and set out on a mission to revive Majin Buu.

Caulifla Dragon Ball Tattoo

Caulifla is a female Saiyan from Universe 6 who appears in Dragon Ball Super. She leads a gang of delinquents and has zero interest in authority, until she learns how powerful Saiyans can become.

Raditz Dragon Ball Tattoo

Raditz is Goku’s biological older brother and the very first major villain of Dragon Ball Z. He arrives on Earth as a Saiyan warrior, delivering the two massive bombshells that would change the series entirely: Goku’s real name is Kakarot, and he is an alien sent to conquer Earth.

Despite coming for Goku, he deems him too weak and a failure to their race, but upon seeing the potential of Son Gohan, he kidnaps him to force him into joining Frieza’s army.

However, the combined efforts of Goku, Piccolo and Gohan would put a stop to his ambitions, but at the cost of Goku’s life, albeit temporarily.

Korin Dragon Ball Tattoo

Korin (Japanese name: Karin) is a mystical, immortal cat who lives at the top of Korin Tower. He’s one of the oldest beings on Earth and a martial arts master who once trained historic fighters like Master Roshi and later Goku.

Mr. Popo Dragon Ball Tattoo

Mr. Popo is the eternal attendant and caretaker of Kami’s Lookout, whose job is to maintain the Lookout, train new fighters, guide heroes spiritually and assist the Guardian (Kami/Dende).

Mr. Popo drew controversy from Western audiences, as they deemed his depiction to resemble that of a racist caricature. However, while never confirmed by author Toriyama, it is highly suggested that Mr. Popo drew inspiration from Mahakala, the Hindu and Buddhist deity, who heavily resembles the character, and has similar themes of guardianship and connection to time: Mahakala – God of Time, Mr. Popo – watches over the room of spirit and time (Hyperbolic time chamber in the Dub).

Ginyu Force Dragon Ball Tattoo

The Ginyu Force is Frieza’s personal elite strike team, a group of five powerful mercenaries known for their bizarre, theatrical poses and flamboyant personalities, modelled after sentai (Power Rangers-style) superhero teams.

King Kai Dragon Ball Tattoo

King Kai is a small, blue, antennaed being who lives on a tiny planet with extreme gravity and who has a pet monkey named Bubbles. After Goku’s death in the battle against Raditz, King Kai trains him in the art of the Kaiokan and Spirit Bomb (Genki Dama).

Dragon Balls Tattoo

The Earth’s Dragon Balls are seven mystical orbs, each with a number of red stars (1–7) on it. When all seven are gathered together, they summon a wish-granting dragon, and once the wish is granted, the balls scatter across the world and turn to stone until they recharge.

The Dragon Ball series has several different sets of Dragon Balls beyond Earth’s Dragon Balls, including the Namekian Dragon Balls (DBZ), Super Dragon Balls (DB Super), Black Star Dragon Balls (DBGT), Dark Dragon Balls (DB Heroes), the Cerealian Dragon Balls (DB Super Manga), and the Demon Realm Dragon Balls (DB Daima).

Tapion Dragon Ball Tattoo

Tapion is a heroic warrior who wields an enchanted sword and an ocarina that can seal monsters in the Dragon Ball Z film Wrath of the Dragon (2003). Tapion comes from Planet Konats and serves as a legendary guardian known for sealing the terrifying monster Hirudegarn inside his own body.

Oolong Dragon Ball Tattoo

Oolong is a shapeshifting pig who starts as a troublemaker but quickly becomes an important comedic companion in the original Dragon Ball series. Cowardly, greedy, and sarcastic, Oolong was the comic relief of the early series, but also a character with genuine heart when it counts.

Puar Dragon Ball Tattoo

Puar is a small, floating, blue, cat-like creature and the lifelong best friend of Yamcha. Puar is sweet, polite, gentle, and surprisingly brave, often acting as the emotional heart of Yamcha’s early adventures. Unlike Oolong, who can only shapeshift for 5 minutes at a time, Puar can shape-shift indefinitely and was top of the class at Shapeshifting Academy, whereas Oolong was expelled.

Vegito Dragon Ball Tattoo

Vegito is the Potara fusion of Goku and Vegeta, created using the sacred earrings worn by Supreme Kais. He first appeared to battle the Gohan-empowered Majin Buu, and even though was turned into chocolate, continues to fight, overpowering the villain.

Originally, the fusion was claimed to be permanent, with Buu’s internals undoing the fusion for unexplained reasons, but when Vegito made his spectacular return in Super, the Potara’s power was retconed to only last 1 hour for mortals.

Pokémon X Dragon Ball Tattoo

Pokémon (short for Pocket Monsters) is one of the world’s biggest entertainment franchises. It began as a video game series in 1996 in Japan and has since grown into a multimedia powerhouse, spanning trading cards, an anime TV series, movies, toys, mobile games, books, clothing, and merchandise.

Tao Pai Pai Dragon Ball Tattoo

Grandpa Gohan Dragon Ball Tattoo

Grandpa Gohan is the kind martial artist who found baby Goku, adopted him, and raised him like his own grandson. One night, Gohan found a mysterious baby in a space pod and brought him home, naming him “Son Goku.”

At first, the baby was wild, violent, and uncontrollable, as Saiyans are naturally aggressive, but when Goku hit his head in an accident, he became kind, cheerful, and sweet. Gohan raised him lovingly from that moment on, teaching him martial arts and how to hunt, cook, and survive.

When Goku was a child, he transformed into a Great Ape during a full moon and accidentally killed Grandpa Gohan, never realizing it was he who caused his death. Gohan later appears temporarily, when Fortuneteller Baba allows the dead to return for one day.

He fights Goku while wearing a fox mask, testing his strength and kindness before removing his mask to reveal himself. He shares an emotional reunion with Goku, telling him he is proud of him before returning to the Other World peacefully.

Zamasu Dragon Ball Tattoo

Zamasu is a Supreme Kai apprentice from Universe 10, who was originally a calm, disciplined, and highly intelligent god-in-training. However, he has a growing hatred for mortals and a deep distrust of mortal free will.

Witnessing violence across various worlds convinces him that mortals will always create suffering and that the universe must be “purified,” leaving only the gods to exist. However, after being defeated by the mortal Goku, he wishes to the Super Dragon Balls to swap bodies with the Saiyan, creating Goku Black, and travels to another timeline to team up with another version of himself who himself wishes for immortality.

Baby Dragon Ball Tattoo

Baby is a main antagonist from early Dragon Ball GT, who is a machine mutant created by the Tuffle race designed to hunt down Saiyans across the universe for revenge and rebuild the Tuffle race.

It is a parasitic lifeform that infects a host through wounds and controls their body, accessing all their memories and abilities. Baby would inhabit both Goten and Gohan’s bodies before settling on Vegata’s, growing more and more powerful until he is finally defeated by Goku’s new Super Saiyan 4 transformation.

Janemba Dragon Ball Tattoo

Janemba is the main antagonist in Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn (1995).

He is a demon-like entity created from distorted evil energy that leaks into the Other World.

When a teenage ogre working in Hell accidentally breaks a machine that controls souls, the machine unleashes an enormous amount of evil energy, mutating the ogre into a giant yellow monster. This creature becomes Janemba, a manifestation of pure evil and chaos, given physical form.

Nappa Dragon Ball Tattoo

Nappa is a high-ranking general of the Saiyan army and one of the last surviving Saiyans after Frieza annihilated their race. He was a partner and guardian to young Prince Vegeta, having known him since he was a child, but despite their bond, Vegeta still treats him harshly and kills him after he is defeated by Goku.

Hit Dragon Ball Tattoo

Hit, also known as Hit the Assassin, is a legendary hitman from Universe 6 whose Time-Skip technique allows him to skip time by a fraction of a second. As Hit grows stronger, he increases the duration of his Time-Skip, eventually reaching 0.5 seconds or more, using those vital moments to strike opponents’ vitals, disabling them instantly.

Kefla Dragon Ball Tattoo

Beerus has existed for millions of years, fulfilling his role as the God of Destruction. After a long nap, he travels to Earth looking for a worthy opponent, as he had a premonition of a Super Saiyan God.

While he initially claimed he would destroy Earth if the Super Saiyan God (Goku) couldn’t defeat him, he quickly became fond of Earth’s culture, particularly its food, and decided to stay his hand.

Omega Shenron Dragon Ball Tattoo

Omega Shenron is the final antagonist of Dragon Ball GT and the most powerful of the Shadow Dragons. First known as Syn Shenron, when he absorbs all seven corrupted Dragon Balls, Syn transforms into Omega Shenron, a larger, more monstrous form overflowing with negative energy.

Cell Dragon Ball Tattoo

Cell is a bio-engineered lifeform created by Dr. Gero’s supercomputer in Dragon Ball Z, who is made from the DNA of the Z Fighters, as well as Frieza and King Cold when they briefly came to earth.

He is designed to be the perfect warrior, combining the abilities of the universe’s strongest fighters, aiming to defeat Goku after achieving his perfect form by absorbing Androids 17 and 18.

Gogeta Dragon Ball Tattoo

Gogeta is the fusion of Goku and Vegeta, who, unlike Vegito, which is created through the Potara earrings, is formed by a perfectly synchronized fusion dance. Gogeta first appeared briefly at the conclusion of the Fusion Reborn film, defeating Janemba with ease, and made his grand return, this time with a Super Saiyan Blue form, in Dragon Ball Super: Broly.

Launch Dragon Ball Tattoo

Launch/Lunch is one of the earliest supporting characters in the original Dragon Ball series, best known for sneezing and transforming into an entirely different person.

Blue-haired Launch is kind, soft-spoken, and innocent, but when she sneezes, she transforms into blonde-haired Launch, who is aggressive, wild, and trigger-happy, firing at everyone for no reason and robbing banks.

Launch disappeared from the series since Dragon Ball Z, with Toriyama admitting that “He simply forgot she existed”.

Master Roshi Dragon Ball Tattoo

Master Roshi is Goku’s first martial arts master, the creator of the Kamehameha and a legendary world champion. He is over 300 years old, and while he is incredibly wise, he is also absolutely pervy.

Roshi is a hermit who lives on a tiny island called Kame House. He teaches his students the “Turtle Hermit Way,” a philosophy that emphasizes a balanced life through hard work, studying, and proper rest. The core tenets are “Work hard, study well, eat and sleep plenty,” which is a multifaceted approach to becoming stronger, not just physically but also as a person.

Shenron Dragon Ball Tattoo

Shenron is the iconic serpentine dragon who appears when all seven Dragon Balls are gathered. Originally, Shenron could grant only one wish, but thanks to a power-up from Dende, it could grant two or three, depending on how much power was needed to grant the wishes.

Dragon Ball GT would introduce Ultimate Shenron, who appears when all the Black Star Dragon Balls are gathered together. This much more powerful Shenron, created by the Nameless Namekian (King Picollo and Kami before they split apart), can grant any wish with no restrictions, but the balls will scatter across the universe when used. If the balls are not gathered together again, the planet on which the wish was made will then be destroyed.

Black Smoke Shenron is a corrupted dragon formed from decades of overuse. He is a manifestation of negative energy built up from countless wishes made on Shenron and splits into seven evil Shadow Dragons, each representing a corrupted Dragon Ball.

Super Shenron is the most powerful Dragon in the Dragon Ball universe, introduced in Dragon Ball Super. He is summoned using the Super Dragon Balls — massive, planet-sized Dragon Balls created by the Dragon God Zalama.

Porunga Dragon Ball Tattoo

Porunga is the wish-granting dragon of Namek who, unlike Shenron of Earth, can grant three wishes with no limit, and revive people multiple times, even if they died of natural causes, but must be spoken to in the Namekian language.

Demon Realm Porunga is the Demon Realm’s Dragon, who appears when the three Demon Realm Dragon Balls are gathered. He looks almost identical to Namek’s Porunga, but is red in colour, and far, far larger, and unlike his Namekian counterpart, only grants one wish.

Cooler Dragon Ball Tattoo

Cooler is the older brother of Frieza and the eldest son of King Cold, who appears in Dragon Ball Z: Cooler’s Revenge and Dragon Ball Z: The Return of Cooler. While not canon, he’s one of the most beloved villains in the franchise thanks to his design, power, and personality.

Needing to prove he’s superior to Frieza, he travels to Earth to kill Goku personally. Unlike his brother (at the time), Cooler has a fifth and final form, making him stronger than his younger brother.

Following his defeat, he was revived and enhanced by the Big Gete Star, a parasitic living supercomputer, transforming him into Metal Cooler.

Videl Dragon Ball Tattoo

Videl is the daughter of Mr. Satan, introduced in the Great Saiyaman / World Martial Arts Tournament arc. She becomes Gohan’s partner, a key member of the Z-Fighter support cast, and later, the mother of Pan.

Krillin Dragon Ball Tattoo

Krillin is Goku’s lifelong best friend, a former monk and is widely considered the strongest pure human in Dragon Ball. Krillin begins as a young monk from the Orin Temple who is competitively jealous of Goku and determined to be the best.

He arrives at Master Roshi’s training as Goku’s rival, but quickly becomes his best friend, teammate and brother figure. In Dragon Ball Z, he remains a series mainstay, aiding in the battle against Vegeta and accompanying Bulma and Gohan on their journey through Planet Namek, with his death triggering Goku’s evolution into a Super Saiyan.

While he was less combative throughout the Android and Cell saga, he still played a major role, and eventually fell in love and married Android 18, and they have a child together.

Gotenks Dragon Ball Tattoo

Gotenks is the Fusion Dance fusion of Goten and Trunks. In this fused state, they are extremely powerful yet consistently overconfident and generally end up defeated. Gotenks is probably best known for his childlike techniques, most notably his Super Ghost Kamikaze attack, in which he spits out ghost versions of himself that explode on impact.

Chiaotzu Dragon Ball Tattoo

Chiaotzu is a small, pale, doll-like martial artist who has been best friends with Tien Shinhan since childhood. Always staying by Tien’s side no matter how dangerous things get, he is best remembered for sacrificing himself trying to stop Nappa by hugging him from behind and exploding.

Zarbon Dragon Ball Tattoo

Zarbon is one of Frieza’s top elite soldiers during the Namek Saga, ranking just below the Ginyu Force. Unlike many of Frieza’s brutes, Zarbon speaks with sophistication and behaves like a nobleman; however, beneath his polished exterior lies a ruthless warrior.

Whis Dragon Ball Tattoo

Whis is an Angel, a divine attendant and martial arts teacher assigned to Beerus. He is responsible for training and guiding Beerus, maintaining cosmic order, overseeing the destruction god’s duties, and monitoring events across universes.

Mr.Satan Dragon Ball Tattoo

Mr. Satan, known as Hercule in the English dub, is the World Martial Arts Champion and the Public “hero” of Earth, believed to have defeated Cell. Despite not being as strong as the Z Fighters, he often plays a major role in key story arcs, helping save the day.

Androids Dragon Ball Tattoo

The Androids are creations of Dr. Gero, a scientist of the Red Ribbon Army who sought revenge against Goku for destroying his organisation in Dragon Ball. Despite being called “androids,” many are actually cyborgs as they are humans modified with mechanical components. While 16 and 19 are full Androids, 17, 18, and Dr. Gero himself were cyborgs.

Android 17 would reappear in Dragon Ball GT, where he fuses with Hell Fighter 17 to create Super 17, as well as appearing in Dragon Ball Super as one of the fighters to join the Tournament of Power.

Android 21 is a video game-exclusive character who serves as the main antagonist in Dragon Ball FighterZ. She is a Bio-android similar to Cell, except she also contains cells from Majin Buu, making her even more formidable.

Dr Gero Dragon Ball Tattoo

He became obsessed with revenge after Goku destroyed the Red Ribbon Army, with his entire life’s work shifting from military technology to creating androids powerful enough to kill Goku.

Yajirobe Dragon Ball Tattoo

Yajirobe is a wandering, food-loving, blunt-talking swordsman who becomes a recurring ally in Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z. Even though he prefers not to fight, Yajirobe is one of the most unexpectedly important side characters in the series, showing his bravery by slicing off Oozaru Vegeta’s tail before he could crush Goku to death.

Tien Dragon Ball Tattoo

Tien Shinhan is one of the strongest human fighters in Dragon Ball, who was once a student of the Crane School and trained under Master Shen to be an assassin. After meeting Goku, Roshi, and Chiaotzu, Tien rejects the Crane School’s cruelty, learns honour, compassion, and discipline, and becomes a hero rather than a killer.

Despite being outmatched, he manages to hold back semi-perfect Cell for a time in one of the series’ most iconic moments with the aid of his Tri-Beam attack.

Jiren Dragon Ball Tattoo

Jiren the Gray is the strongest warrior of Universe 11 and the pride of the Pride Troopers. He is the main antagonist of the Tournament of Power, being one of the only mortals whose strength surpasses even some Gods of Destruction.

Bulma Dragon Ball Tattoo

While not a fighter, she has saved the world more times than most actual warriors thanks to her genius and ingenuity, creating a time Machine, heart medicine, and repairing Android 16, to name a few.

SSJ 5 Dragon Ball Tattoo

Super Saiyan 5 is a fan creation that comes from Dragon Ball AF, a famous fan-made series that spread across the internet in the early 2000s. Even though it’s unofficial, it’s beloved by fans worldwide so much that the design has become legendary.

The Super Saiyan 5 design was originally drawn by David Montiel Franco for a Spanish magazine, who created it as an original character named “Tablos”. The design became associated with SSJ5 after it was used in fan works, most notably in the fan manga series Dragon Ball AF by Toyotarou, the current artist of the Dragon Ball Super manga.
